Lexington Health Network appoints Matt Hughes, MBA as Chief Executive Officer

Lexington Health Network has announced that Matt Hughes has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Lexington Health Network. Matt will develop and lead the Executive Team, and perform as a key decision maker while implementing and directing both long and short-term strategic plans for Lexington Health Network. He is the direct liaison between our Board of Directors and the management of our organization entities, as he will represent the interests of both parties to support the overall organizational mission and strategic goals.

Matt brings both leadership and an expanse of experience in strategy, technology development, and managing businesses in highly regulated industries to Lexington Health Network. He will continue in his role of President of Curatess™, our Telemedicine platform. Previously Matt was Vice President, Strategic Planning and Development for Options Clearing Corporation (OCC), the world’s largest equity derivatives clearing organization and one of eight Systemically Important Financial Market Utilities (SIFMU) in the United States, where he developed innovative clearing technology and built programs to ensure the resilience of OCC’s risk guarantee for its options, futures, and securities lending markets. He previously served as the Executive Liaison to the Chairman, helping to lead critical initiatives to bolster OCC’s financial safeguards. He also led a significant program to overhaul the business process and controls framework of the Corporation to meet new regulatory standards. Prior to that, he was the Director of Enterprise Architecture, responsible for setting the standards for all systems designed to support OCC’s business, and serving as the primary representative of OCC’s architecture function to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and leading an industry panel of the top US banks, brokers and exchanges to collaborate on effective system design and integration to support US derivatives markets.

Prior to OCC, he was a Manager at Deloitte Consulting, where he served clients in the Health Care and Financial Services Markets. Matt’s depth of knowledge in building mission-critical systems enabled him to support the nation’s largest non-profit HMO provider to install an electronic medical record system on a National scale. He also helped lead a top national credit card company to perform a major card processing platform transition.

Matt graduated with Highest Honors with a bachelor’s degree in science in electrical engineering and minor in computer science from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, IL. He continued his education by earning a master’s degree in business administration from the University Of Chicago Booth School Of Business, Chicago, IL with an emphasis in finance, operations and statistics.
