| Position Description |
|
The Director of Admissions (Dir Adm) has as their primary role; securing new customers through the tour process, collaboration with the Customer Call Center/CCC (Intake Specialist and Financial Coordinator) and key facility partners (Director of Nursing, Client Services, Housekeeping and Reception) on both new and returning customers in order to ensure a smooth transition for the patient/resident and family. This person will focus (with the team) on providing the new patient/resident and family, with all necessary services for optimal satisfaction and mentoring staff in enhanced customer relations.
•Responsible for overall coordination of all tours and will conduct tours in the absence of the Admission Coordinator.
•Ensures through internal staff that the facility is consistently tour ready.
•Responsible for daily constant communications with the Administrator, hospital liaisons, and call center staff as to bed availability throughout the day.
•Responsible for ensuring all sub-acute and RTH referrals are converted to admissions as soon as possible including following up to ensure that all scheduled admissions for the day are closed
•Partner with, and direct supervision of, the Admissions Coordinator by overseeing all LTC inquiries and referrals to worked completion.
•Ensures that all pertinent data to track the business is input daily in a timely manner. Responsible for completing daily census transactions (room changes, admission, discharge, death, etc.
•Ensures follow up on all tours, leads, open inquiries until closed.
•Acts as primary liaison to the Call Center
•Ensures the admission packet is complete, signed off by the Administrator daily as to its completeness, and sent to the financial coordinator.
•Partners with Nursing, Client Services and related departments for any room changes in order to assist with admission (re-admission) of patients /residents.
•Arranges for equipment with Central Supply (DME equipment, specialty beds, etc) and ensures that it is present in the patient/resident room prior to admission.
•Notifies the facility team of all new admissions.
•Ensures that chart is ready and on the proper unit.
•Ensures that there has been a final check of the room (checklist) to assure that it is prepared for receiving the admission.
•Meet patient/resident in the lobby upon admission and escort to room (in absence of Admissions Coordinator).
•Immediately addresses all new admission concerns and secure resolutions (in absence of Admissions Coordinator).
•Initiates greeting and/or coordinates the process for new admission and explain what will occur during the admission process.
•Supervises the receptionist function and ensures appropriate level of coverage each day.
•Supervises the Admissions Coordinator.
•Develops goals, priority projects, actions plan (to enhance successes and improve challenge areas) and timelines for implementation of the Admissions Coordinators function and services.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
•Must be able to propel a patient / resident in a wheelchair.
•Must be able to move items at least 15 pounds.
•Must be able to assist patients /residents in evacuating the building in an emergency.
PROFESSIONAL GROWTH OPPORTUNITIES
Continuing education is provided for the Director of Admissions to enhance their knowledge base. Education in the areas of tours, sales, and management enhances job knowledge. The skills learned from sales and census development approaches also broadens the Director’s baseline of knowledge, which contributes towards professional growth and the Director of Admission’s ability to be a key resource within the facility.

| Requirements |
|
1.Associates degree preferred. Must be a high school graduate.
2.Prefer prior experience in long-term care, assisted living or related health care setting.
3.Must be able to manage own schedule and complete multiple tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
4.Must know and be able to independently initiate steps towards problem resolution. Preferably demonstrating the ability to effectively resolve the problem, and maintain resolution.
5.Must have above average verbal communication skills with verbal and written command of English.
6.Must demonstrate friendly, professional and business-like demeanor that instills trust and confidence.
7.Must have basic computer skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and web-based programs.
